Although these views may have been acceptable in the 1800′s, the current situation dictates that government and business can no longer afford to turn a blind eye to current state of the environment, especially when it comes to the transportation industry. No matter how you look at it, the numbers clearly indicate that there is a huge correlation between oil dependence and global warming. Since our industry is a huge user of fossil fuels, it is our responsibility to take whatever steps are necessary to ensure that we stop compromising the quality of our air, land and water and that we make sure these resources are available for future generations.
